    The Department of Economics and Finance has successfully launched the EAF Professional Mentorship Programme 2024/25. The programme aims to provide EAF students with a platform to connect with industry professionals, cultivate workplace-ready soft skills and networking capabilities, and offer opportunities to seek career advice from experienced mentors. The programme commenced with the “Kick-off Seminar cum Mentors-Mentees Sharing”, which ran smoothly on the evening of 16 June.     Dr. Robert Holzmann, governor of the Austrian Central Bank, gave a public lecturer on “Unconventional Monetary Policy under Review: Intentions, Results, and Alternatives” at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong on 13 June 2025. In the public lecture, governor Holzmann  discussed the intentions, effectiveness, and options of the unconventional monetary policy in the Euro area and beyond.     The Department of Economics and Finance achieved another milestone in FinTech education by hosting two dynamic competitions in 2025: the 2nd Inter-University FinTech Innovation Competition on 30 May and the 3rd Secondary School FinTech Innovation Competition on 19 June.     A HSUHK team won a Judges’ Award in “Excellent Financial Education Project”, Personal Finance Ambassador Programme 2024/25 We are pleased to share some fantastic news. A team with members major in BBA-ECON won the “Judges Accredited Awards” in the Personal Finance Ambassador Programme 2024/25, co-organized by the Investor and Financial Education Council and St James’ Settlement.
