{"id":19320,"date":"2025-04-24T12:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-24T04:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbus.hsu.edu.hk\/news\/acy-symposium-enhancing-financial-reporting-and-transparency-navigating-the-revised-corporate-governance-code\/"},"modified":"2026-03-05T10:34:10","modified_gmt":"2026-03-05T02:34:10","slug":"acy-symposium-enhancing-financial-reporting-and-transparency-navigating-the-revised-corporate-governance-code","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbus.hsu.edu.hk\/zh-hans\/news\/department-of-accountancy\/acy-symposium-enhancing-financial-reporting-and-transparency-navigating-the-revised-corporate-governance-code\/","title":{"rendered":"ACY Symposium \u2013 Enhancing Financial Reporting and Transparency: Navigating the Revised Corporate Governance Code"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\uff08\u53ea\u63d0\u4f9b\u82f1\u6587\u7248\u672c\uff09<\/p>\n<p>We are pleased to report on the successful conclusion of the <a href=\"https:\/\/sbus.hsu.edu.hk\/events\/acy-symposium-enhancing-financial-reporting-and-transparency-navigating-the-revised-corporate-governance-code-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ACY Symposium titled\u00a0<strong>\u201cEnhancing Financial Reporting and Transparency: Navigating the Revised Corporate Governance Code\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>held on 24 April 2025 by the Department of Accountancy\u00a0at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK).<\/p>\n<p>The symposium featured keynote addresses from Professor Simon Ho, President of HSUHK, who spoke on \u201cGovernance and Sustainability,\u201d and Ms. Janey Lai, CEO of the Accounting and Financial Reporting Council (AFRC), who delivered a compelling presentation on \u201cEnhancing Governance and Transparency in Financial Reporting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sbus.hsu.edu.hk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250424_HSUHK_m_1200-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sbus.hsu.edu.hk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250424_HSUHK_m_1274-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sbus.hsu.edu.hk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250424_HSUHK_m_1326-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Two dynamic panel discussions engaged participants deeply on the practical implications and future outlook of the revised Corporate Governance Code, which will take effect on 1 July 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The first panel, moderated by Mr. Michael Li, focused on \u201cImplementing the Revised Corporate Governance Code: Challenges, Best Practices, and the Future of Corporate Accountability in Hong Kong,\u201d featuring experts Dr. Eva Chan, Mr. Cyrus Cheung, Ms. Melissa Fung, and Mr. Jacky Lai.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sbus.hsu.edu.hk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250424_HSUHK_m_1634-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>The second panel, moderated by Mr. Ambrose Ting, explored \u201cAdapting to the New Corporate Governance Landscape: Insights and Strategies for Hong Kong\u2019s Future,\u201d with contributions from Mr. Mohan Datwani, Ms. Julianne Doe, Ms. Alva Lee, Mr. Roy Lo, and Ms. Karen Ngai.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sbus.hsu.edu.hk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250424_HSUHK_m_1671-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>This symposium provided a timely platform for industry leaders, regulators, academics, and practitioners to exchange knowledge and prepare for the significant governance reforms ahead.
