The tour aimed to enhance academic and cultural exchanges while exploring regional development initiatives. It provided critical insights into Laos&#8217; higher education system, professional services, and government policies, with a focus on social responsibility.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Initial Insights from Bangkok<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The tour commenced on 4 July with a one-day visit to Bangkok. The delegation visited the Lalamove Bangkok Office, where they met Ben Lin, Managing Director of Lalamove Thailand. They gained insights into the company&#8217;s innovative logistics solutions and its commitment to empowering local communities and SMEs. They also met with representatives Deputy Director Mr. Jason Chow and\u00a0Head of Public Relations Ms. Helen Wong from the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO), discussing Hong Kong\u2019s role as a global business hub and its initiatives to foster closer cooperation with Thailand and ASEAN countries.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sbus.hsu.edu.hk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/01_Lalamove_ILCS5118-1-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>The delegation at Lalamove Bangkok Office<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sbus.hsu.edu.hk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/02_HKETO_FXVO5787-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>The delegation met with Mr. Jason Chow, Deputy Director and Ms. Helen Wong, Head of Public Relations of HKETO in Bangkok<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Higher Education and Capacity Building<\/strong><br \/>\nIn Vientiane, the delegation visited the National University of Laos (\u8001\u64be\u570b\u7acb\u5927\u5b78)and the Confucius Institute (\u5b54\u5b50\u5b78\u9662), emphasising the importance of educational exchanges in fostering mutual understanding and addressing the socio-economic needs of the country. They also visited Vientiane High School (\u842c\u8c61\u4e2d\u5b78) to observe secondary education in Laos. Renowned for its strong academic tradition, the school has produced graduates who have become government officials and leaders in various sectors. Professor Mo introduced HSUHK\u2019s programmes, aiming to attract students to pursue their studies at our University. Discussions with the Ministry of Education and Sports highlighted recent milestones in educational cooperation with Hong Kong, including scholarships for over 500 Lao students. The firm\u2019s initiatives in capacity building reflect a shared commitment to developing local expertise, which is vital for supporting Laos\u2019 growing economy. The visit to the Bank of China\u2019s Vientiane branch further underscored the importance of financial services in facilitating trade and investment, while also showcasing the bank\u2019s commitment to social responsibility through community support during natural disasters.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sbus.hsu.edu.hk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/06_2025.07.08_MPFH3209-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Professor Mo and Dr. Wong with Mr. Van le, Partner of EY Laos<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Government Policy and International Cooperation<\/strong><br \/>\nMeetings with government institutions such as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Laos Office (\u806f\u5408\u570b\u958b\u767c\u8a08\u5283\u7f72)and the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism (\u8001\u64be\u65b0\u805e\u6587\u5316\u65c5\u904a\u90e8)revealed ongoing efforts in sustainable development, cultural heritage preservation, and tourism promotion.
