By engaging directly with the elderly community, students translated classroom knowledge into practical support, empowering seniors to navigate financial challenges and protect themselves from fraud.<\/p>\n\n<p>One student said, <strong><em>\u201cUsing games to teach financial literacy and scam awareness made the learning experience engaging for the seniors. It was rewarding to see them actively participate and gain useful skills.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>An elder participant expressed her gratitude, saying, <strong><em>\u201cThe students\u2019 game booths were very meaningful and helpful. They made complicated topics easy to understand, and I feel more confident managing my money and avoiding scams. I really appreciate their kindness and effort.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Beyond financial education, the activity fostered meaningful intergenerational dialogue, breaking down social barriers and reducing feelings of isolation among the elderly. The students\u2019 presence and genuine interest helped create a warm, supportive environment.<\/p>\n\n<p>As Hong Kong\u2019s population ages and scams targeting seniors rise, such initiatives are crucial. The service-learning programme not only enhances student learning but also contributes to building a safer, more inclusive community.
