Overview

The School of Business has launched several key initiatives to enhance research and support family businesses, innovative entrepreneurship, and sustainable development in the region. Three centres and institutes – namely, the Chinese Family Succession Research Centre (CFSRC), the Research Institute for Business (RIB), and The Start-up and SME Resource Centre (SSRC) – have been established to address these regional needs.

Research Institute for Business

Research Institute for Business (RIB)

Established in 2015/16, the Research Institute for Business (RIB) was created through the financial support under the Institutional Development Scheme of the Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong.

Chinese Family Succession Research Centre

Chinese Family Succession Research Centre (CFSRC)

Chinese Family Succession Research Centre (CFSRC)is established under the School of Business with an aspiration to be the leading research platform to generate and disseminate new knowledge on family succession in the Greater China region. We undertake research on Chinese culture and family succession, family business, family governance, family wealth and estate management, and even the family as a brand.

The Start-up and SME Resource Centre

The Start-up and SME Resource Centre (SSRC)

Established by the School of Business in 2021 with the support of our university’s Strategic Development Grants, the Start-up and SME Resource Centre (SSRC) is a new initiative aiming to contribute to the sustainability of start-ups and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Hong Kong in the form of a consulting service.
