Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
I have submitted my student visa application documents. How long will it take to obtain my student visa?
Once The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) has received and verified all required documents, the University will submit the student visa application to the Hong Kong Immigration Department on the applicant’s behalf. Processing typically takes around 8 weeks, although it may take longer during peak application periods. For enquiries, please contact the Graduate School at pgadmission@hsu.edu.hk.
On which days are classes normally scheduled? When will the timetable be released?
Full-time postgraduate programmes offered by the School of Business at HSUHK are delivered during weekdays. Classes are generally scheduled from Monday to Friday, with students typically attending classes on 3 or more days per week.
The class timetable will be released approximately one month before programme commencement. Final arrangements are subject to the University’s official announcements.
Are there any elective courses in the first semester?
The first semester mainly consists of core compulsory courses, and elective courses are generally not offered. Elective courses are normally available in subsequent semesters, and course registration details will be announced by the University in advance.
Where are classes held?
Classes are primarily conducted at The Create, HSUHK’s teaching centre located in the M+ Building, West Kowloon Cultural District, conveniently close to Hong Kong West Kowloon Station.
Some classes, guest lectures, or courses requiring specialised facilities may be held at the University’s Sha Tin campus, depending on programme requirements.
If my Cantonese proficiency is limited, what career support is available?
The School of Business postgraduate programmes do not generally require compulsory internships. Students are encouraged to pursue internship and employment opportunities based on their career goals.
The School of Business regularly shares internship and recruitment opportunities, while the Student Affairs Office provides career services including career advising, CV enhancement, mock interviews, job search support, and career planning to help students prepare for future employment.
