Students, faculty and the public at large, please come and join us to learn about Lien’s expertise in conducting research across many countries in East Asia. The presentation will touch on how she developed scales to capture several important Confucian values and how she analysed their effect on influencing the consumption of luxury goods. Specifically, the workshop will help us to gauge how such Confucian values play a key role in modern day East Asian society. The talk will also examine how the influence of such values may be more or less relevant across different major cities in the region, identifying convergence and divergence among different ethnic groups. Finally, the presentation will explore whether such research has the potential to cut across the wider landscape surrounding people, work, management and society at large.
