Dr. Andrew Wu has accumulated nearly two decades of extensive experience in the banking and finance industry. Following the completion of his PhD, he began his career at Ernst & Young as a quantitative analyst within the Financial Services Risk Management Advisory division. He was responsible for providing engineered solutions to help financial institutions manage risks related to trading, asset-liability management, and capital management activities.
Later, Dr. Wu transitioned to J.P. Morgan, where he embarked on a career in currency and commodity derivatives trading. His exceptional performance led to his promotion to Head of Foreign Exchange Structuring for the North Asia region. In this role, he played a pivotal part in designing and trading structured products tailored to meet the demands of regional markets.
Building on previous successes, Dr. Wu joined Standard Chartered as Head of Commodities Structuring, where he oversaw the development of structured product trading and identified new business opportunities to strengthen the bank’s competitive edge in the market. After an impactful tenure in banking, Dr. Wu shifted his focus to the physical bullion market, joining a leading commodities trading house. His work, while being Head of Trading, included expanding the firm’s proprietary and algorithmic trading capabilities, driving significant growth and delivering operational excellence within this specialized domain.
