Biography

Mr Chris Cheng is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Accountancy at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. Chris is a Certified Management Accountant (Australia) and a member of the Hong Kong Computer Society (MHKCS). Before starting his academic career, Chris served for several providers of accounting software, material requirements planning (MRP) systems and enterprise resources planning (ERP) systems, and provided consultancy and software support services to their clients in China, Hong Kong and Macau.

“Learning IT concepts through software practices” is a teaching strategy adopted by Chris. He has assisted the Department in joining different IT-related academic alliances or partnership programmes offered by Microsoft, Oracle, NetSuite, Kingdee, Alteryx, and UiPath. Students have opportunities to learn some of the latest IT concepts and skills by using software applications provided by the captioned IT companies.
