EAF Investment Competition 2024 – Kick-off Ceremony

Our annual event, the EAF Investment Competition 2024, was kicked off on 29 February 2024. This is a simulated stock market investment and trading competition. Participants will compete within a period of about 17 weeks in Semester 2 (from March to June) in a renowned trading simulation platform with a paper trade account. Investment decisions are made using real data and news. Participants’ returns performance reflects actual market conditions. Student teams will compete in a renowned trading simulation platform using real-time data and news.

We are glad to invite the Head of Economics and Finance Department, Dr David Chui to deliver the opening speech. This was followed by a talk given by Mr. Tim Cheong, a CFA Charterholder and Portfolio Analyst at BNP Paribas, specializing in multi-asset solutions under Discretionary Portfolio Management. Tim shared his industry insight and explained how fund managers pick stocks.

3 teams with the highest rate of return were shortlisted for the finalist round and they were invited to present and explain their investment and trading strategies in June.
