On 3 February 2026, a group of ACY students attended ICAEW x BritCham “Capital Beyond Borders: GoGlobal” Panel Discussion, together with Professor Phyllis Mo, Head of the Department of Accountancy. The panel discussion brought together leaders from Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland to discuss what companies and finance professionals need to succeed across borders, including disciplined governance, strong risk oversight, credible financial control and alignment with internationally recognised standards.
Students heard insights from Ms. Azlina Bulmer, ICAEW International Director; Mr. Michael Fitzgerald, Finance Director and Member of the Executive Directorate at MTR Corporation and ICAEW Fellow; Mr. Paul McComb, Executive Director of the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong; and Professor Zhixuan Wang, Director of the Research Center for Belt and Road Financial and Economic Development at Xiamen National Accounting Institute. The evening concluded with a networking reception, giving students the opportunity to engage directly with speakers and other industry representatives.
