The Professional Bodies Briefing Session 2025-26 – Series 1 was successfully held on 2 October 2025. In this session, the Department of Accountancy invited representatives from three renowned professional bodies, namely (in alphabetical order) the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), CPA Australia and Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), to delineate their institutes and respective professional qualifications, including examination structures and paper exemptions available for HSUHK graduates. The event received overwhelming support, resulting in a full house on the day.
Following the presentations from the professional bodies, An in-house briefing session was conducted. Our academic staff from the Department of Accountancy outlined the features and advantages of each professional body, assisting students in making informed decisions about their future professional paths.
Throughout the seminar, students explored career options in professional accountancy, the difference between various accounting qualifications awarded by different professional bodies and discussed the importance of AI and technology in their career development.
