Cathay Career Talk 2026: A Closer Look at Customer Experience Careers

The School of Business welcomed Cathay Pacific back to campus on 12 March 2026 for a career talk on customer experience and frontline roles in the aviation industry. This was Cathay Pacific’s second visit to HSUHK this academic year, showing the strong connection between the airline and our University.

The session attracted over 80 SBUS students, who were keen to learn more about careers in customer service. Cathay Pacific representatives shared their experiences and talked about why customer service plays such an important role in the airline’s success. Students also gained a better understanding of roles such as Customer Service Officer and Flight Attendant and what Cathay looks for in candidates.

To mark Cathay Pacific’s 80th anniversary, one of the speakers appeared in a vintage 1960s cabin crew uniform, giving students a fun and memorable glimpse into the airline’s history and long-standing service culture. The talk ended with an interactive Q&A session, where students asked questions about recruitment, career development and working life at Cathay.

During the session, students also shared that they had already joined Cathay Pacific’s internship programmes, highlighting the practical impact of the career talk and students’ strong interest in customer experience roles within the aviation industry.

The career talk sparked strong interest among students. Since the first Cathay career sharing session earlier this year, the airline has received many applications from HSUHK students, with some already starting their customer experience careers. The School of Business looks forward to continuing this partnership and bringing more industry learning opportunities to our students.
