The Department of Accountancy (“ACY”) held the inaugural Mentor-Mentee Pairing Event (“event”) for the Mentorship Programme (“Programme”) in academic year 2025-2026 on 3 October (Friday) at “The Always” of HSUHK. ACY is honored to invite nine esteemed business leaders to attend the event and serve as mentors. Twenty-seven student-mentees and ACY colleagues also attended the event.
After the official lighting ceremony to celebrate the kick-off of the Programme, Professor Phyllis Mo, Head of ACY, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of ACY to express her gratitude to the mentors, who generously devote their time and efforts to guide the student-mentees. She also welcomed the student-mentees of the first cohort and wished them great success in their future studies and careers under the guidance of the mentors.
The mentors and student-mentees were divided into different groups, where they had the opportunity to communicate and gain a better understanding of each other, facilitating pairing up mentors and mentees after the event.The Accountancy Mentorship Programme is a unique initiative that connects students with esteemed business leaders and helps them understand the importance of classroom learning and real-world practice. By joining this Programme, students will gain personalized guidance from seasoned mentors to develop essential career skills, expand their professional network, and explore career opportunities.
