A delegation of faculty and students from the Department of Accountancy (ACY) attended the ACCA Hong Kong 75th Anniversary Annual Dinner 2025, themed “75 years that shine. A timeless partner defined.” on Tuesday, 16 September 2025, at the JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong.
The occasion gathered leaders from the accounting and business communities to celebrate a milestone for the profession and offered a valuable platform for engagement and networking. ACY participants interacted with industry figures, gained first-hand insights into current trends, and broadened their professional horizons — an eye-opening experience that strengthened students’ career readiness and highlighted the dynamism and community spirit of the accounting profession.
Distinguished guests included The Honourable Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the HKSAR Government; Professor Nelson Lam, Director of Audit, Audit Commission; The Honourable Edmund Wong, Legislative Council Member (Functional Constituency – Accountancy); Mr Stanley Ho, Immediate Past Chairman of ACCA Hong Kong; and Mr Wilson Cheng, newly elected Chairman of ACCA Hong Kong and a member of the Programme Advisory Committee of HSUHK’s BBA (Honours) in Professional Accountancy programme. Their presence underscored the strong ties between academia and the profession, and ACCA’s enduring role in nurturing future talent.
