On 19 December 2025, Professor Limei Che of Oslo Metropolitan University presented her research paper titled “Parental Occupation and Audit Labour Supply: Evidence on Auditors’ Career Choices, Career Advancement, and Audit Quality” to her colleagues in the Department of Accountancy.
In her seminar, Professor Che explored how having a parent in the accounting profession influences individuals’ decisions to pursue a career in auditing, their subsequent career advancement, and their overall job performance, particularly in relation to audit quality. Utilising empirical evidence, her research sheds light on the dynamics of labour supply within the auditing field and contributes to broader discussions on professional development and quality assurance in accountancy.
