The Department of Management (MGT) successfully hosted an inspiring fireside chat titled “Cross‑border Entrepreneurship with Purpose” on 12 February 2026, bringing together students, faculty members, and visiting delegates to explore how entrepreneurship can create meaningful social impact across borders.

Expert Insights on Purpose‑Driven Entrepreneurship

The fireside chat featured expert guest speakers with strong backgrounds in entrepreneurial finance and governance. Through candid dialogue and practical reflections, the speakers shared perspectives on building ventures that balance financial sustainability with social purpose, particularly in cross‑border and international contexts.

This session offered students valuable exposure to real‑world entrepreneurial thinking, highlighting how purpose‑driven businesses can respond to complex global and societal challenges.

Strengthening International Academic Collaboration

The event was held following a delegation visit from the National University of Management (NUM) in Cambodia, underscoring MGT’s commitment to international partnership and cross‑cultural exchange. This visit formed part of a broader academic collaboration linked to the GE module MGT2021 Social Entrepreneurship as Creative Problem Solving. 

The initiative was also connected to a collaboration service‑learning activity supported by the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL), reinforcing the integration of experiential learning into the curriculum.
