On March 5, 2026, the EAF Investment Talk, titled “Navigating Equity Markets with a Top-Down Strategy,” drew a full house of students. The talk was delivered by guest speaker Jimson Chiu, a Senior Research Analyst at a buy side firm. Jimson is an alumnus of EAF.
Jimson shared his expertise on the top-down approach to equity investment, a systematic framework that begins with macroeconomic analysis and drills down to individual stock selection. He detailed how to identify the business cycle, rotate sectors accordingly, and evaluate company quality before making investment decisions. The session was highly valuable, providing students with a practical and strategic framework to apply to their own investment journeys.
