HSUHK Hong Kong Real Estate Bootcamp

The Hang Seng University (HSU) Real Estate and Property Management Bootcamp concluded its intensive three-day program (December 3rd – 5th) in Hong Kong, marking an outstanding success in connecting the next generation of industry leaders with real-world expertise and practical site immersion.

The bootcamp provided a highly selective group of participants with unparalleled access to Hong Kong’s most prestigious property developers, asset managers, and global real estate consultants, delivering a comprehensive curriculum focused on investment, management, sustainability, and market strategy.

The program kicked off with an in-depth visit to Swire Properties. Students received an exclusive introduction to the firm’s portfolio and participated in a site tour of major new developments, offering critical insight into large-scale commercial real estate management and planning.

The afternoon featured a session with Colliers International, including a fascinating case study on the iconic Regent Hotel, before students proceeded to a site visit with Gaw Capital, demonstrating the complexities of high-value hospitality asset repositioning.

Day two solidified the program’s focus on global consultancy and corporate strategy. Participants were welcomed by CBRE, where discussions centered on career pathways, including internships and graduate training programs, alongside crucial updates from the RICS Head of the HK Advisory Board.

The afternoon was dedicated to the core commercial landscape of Central, with an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at HK Land’s prestigious portfolio. Key sessions covered themes central to modern development, including technology integration, tenant wellness, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance—topics increasingly critical to the industry. Students engaged in professional presentations and exploring interactive models of property management.

The final day focused on forward-looking development and specialized asset classes. The morning session with Henderson Land provided extensive insight into large-scale financing, strategic land banks, the ambitious Northern Metropolis initiative, and advanced property management practices.

The successful bootcamp concluded with a session hosted by PGIM (A Leading Global Asset Manager), followed by a site visit to Weave Living’s modern Weave Studios at Kowloon West. This segment offered a practical look at the booming furnished rental apartment market and the future of community-centric property investment.

This bootcamp bridges the gap between academic theory and industry practice. Seeing our students engage directly with top professionals from Swire, CBRE, HK Land, and the other major partners, and discuss topics ranging from the Regent Hotel case study to the Northern Metropolis, proves the immense value of this immersive format.

The success of the bootcamp demonstrate a successfully collaboration between HSUHK and the leading figures of the global real estate sector.
