On 12 February 2026, the Department of Accountancy, in collaboration with ICAEW Hong Kong, hosted ICAEW’s ethics training film “Crossing the Line.” The session provided accounting students with an interactive learning experience focused on professional ethics and judgement.
We were honoured to welcome Ms. Stacy Ho, Head of ICAEW Hong Kong, and Mr. Duncan Whitmore, Senior International Member Engagement Executive, ICAEW Hong Kong, alongside facilitators Ms. Antonia Jessup, Head of Asia-Pacific Product Control at Jain Global, and Mr. Alisdair Jessup, Partner at KPMG. Professor Phyllis Mo, Head of the Department of Accountancy, presented souvenirs to express our gratitude to the guests.
During the screening, Ms. Antonia Jessup and Mr. Alisdair Jessup led a lively discussion on ethical judgement, auditor independence, going concern and professional scepticism. Students examined the ethical pressures depicted in the film and explored practical safeguards and professional mindsets relevant to auditing and finance roles. A short networking session concluded the event, enabling students to connect with the speakers and ICAEW Hong Kong representatives.
The Department of Accountancy thanks ICAEW Hong Kong and our facilitators for their generous support and insightful sharing. We will continue partnering with professional bodies to deliver practice-based learning that prepares students and graduates for ethical leadership in the accounting profession.
