The BBA-MKT and BBA-GB programmes jointly hosted a warm and first-ever gathering for Year 1 students on 5 November. The event focused on sharing wisdom, sparking inspiration, and building connections. Our senior students, alumni, and MKT faculty members came together to share valuable insights with our newcomers on how to succeed in the classroom, enrich university life, and prepare for future careers.
The evening began with heartfelt reflections from ZENG Weilun, Helen (BBA-MKT, Year 3) and, LAM Ho Ting, Trip (BBA-GB, Year 2) who shared their experiences transitioning from secondary school to university. Their unique stories provided practical advice to help new students navigate a new learning environment. Following this, MKT alumna Denise Yip demonstrated her journey of transforming from a university graduate to a career-ready professional, emphasizing the importance of problem-solving skills and proactive career planning as key strategies for enhancing competitiveness.
The highlight of the event was the motivational presentation delivered by the Head of Department and Programme Directors, who encouraged students to realize their full potential, cultivate a growth mindset, and plan their first-year goals. After the session, students connected with teachers, alumni, and peers in a relaxed atmosphere filled with energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm.
The inspiring event marked a significant beginning to university life for MKT/GB newcomers. We look forward to seeing them excel and wish them a promising future at HSUHK!
