MSc‑EM Entrepreneurship Advisor Programme – Coffee Chat

The MSc‑EM Entrepreneurship Advisor Programme successfully hosted its Coffee Chat on 30 January 2026 at The Create, M+, bringing students and industry practitioners together for an evening of insightful discussion and networking. The event provided a focused platform for students to engage with experienced entrepreneurship advisors and gain practical perspectives on innovation, leadership, and venture development.

The Coffee Chat featured four distinguished advisors: Mr Calvin Cheng, Founder and CEO of Wizpresso; Mr Ricky Lee, Director at Deloitte Advisory Hong Kong; Ms Elaine Wang, former Managing Director and Head of Human Resources at Hang Seng Bank; and Mr Michael Wong, Founder and CEO of HairCoSys Limited. Drawing from diverse professional backgrounds, the advisors shared successful stories and personal experiences, offering candid reflections on entrepreneurship across both startup and corporate environments. They highlighted the importance of resilience, strategic thinking, and team building when navigating uncertainty and scaling operations. Students gained valuable insights into how entrepreneurial capabilities are increasingly relevant across a wide range of career paths.

Adding a student perspective, current EM student Mr Liang Weixiong shared his ongoing business focusing on the latest development of AI voice technologies. He introduced how advances in speech recognition and synthesis are creating new applications in various areas and explained his team’s approach to rapid prototyping and iterative development.

The Programme extends its sincere appreciation to the advisors for their generous sharing and to the students for their active participation. The Coffee Chat exemplified the Programme’s commitment to enriching student learning through close industry engagement, and similar initiatives will continue to support students’ academic and professional development.
