AI and Design Thinking Unite at the School of Business AI Workshop cum Business Leadership Forum

On Thursday, October 23, more than 150 participants attended the School of Business AI Workshop cum Business Leadership Forum at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. The event combined a roundtable discussion on design thinking and AI plus a practical business AI workshop, focusing on the intersection of customer-centric culture /process and artificial intelligence.

Kicking things off in Part I, the Business Leadership Forum addressed the topic “When Design Thinking Meets AI,” moderated by Mr Ricky Lam, Associate Dean (Enterprise and Business Engagement) of the School of Business. The panelists – Mr Alan Kan, Professor of Practice (Digital Advertising) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University; Mr Tommie Lo, Founder and CEO of Preface AI; and Mr John Priest, Chairman of Hampton Accelerate, Hampton Capital, and Peak Investment Partners – provided insights from design, Artificial Intelligence, and investment perspectives. The discussion offered attendees new viewpoints on the topic.

In Part II, the AI Workshop featured Mr Tommie Lo and his colleague Mr Sean Tam from Preface AI, who presented AI latest developments and demonstrated various business AI tools, sharing of prompting best practices as well as agentic AI real case examples. Attendees acquired skills in areas such as reverse prompt engineering and data analysis, applicable in business contexts.


The event wrapped up on a positive note. Participants left with renewed inspiration and a deeper understanding of AI’s business and workflow applications.
