Strengthening Regional Alliances in Mainland China

The School of Business continues to advance its global strategy by cultivating impactful institutional partnerships across Mainland China. In May 2025, Professor Sam Park, Dean of the School of Business, embarked on a high-level visit to seven leading universities in Beijing, Shanghai, and Wuhan, establishing deeper ties with Central University of Finance and Economics, China Europe International Business School, Fudan University, Peking University, Tongji University, Wuhan College of Arts and Sciences and Wuhan Business University.

These high-level meetings marked a significant milestone in regional engagement. Each visit was characterised by warm hospitality and substantive discussions with senior representatives, resulting in firm commitments to future collaboration across multiple dimensions—including joint academic programmes, faculty and student exchange, collaborative research, and cross-institutional events.

A key outcome of the visit was the conceptualisation of the China Business Forum, scheduled for launch in January 2026. This flagship initiative will serve as a platform for dialogue between academia and industry on issues of strategic relevance to China and the broader global economy. Drawing participation from Deans, faculty members, and business leaders across partner institutions, the forum will integrate scholarly research with industry insights to promote evidence-based practice and generate sustainable societal impact.

Through these formalised partnerships, the School of Business solidifies its position as a regional collaborator and a globally engaged institution committed to advancing shared goals in business education and innovation. The relationships established during this visit lay the foundation for sustained collaboration and mutual enrichment in the years ahead.
