On June 11, 2026, the School of Business (SBUS) successfully hosted its Summer Research Camp at the University’s main campus. The event attracted around 70 colleagues from across the school and participants outside HSUHK, enabling fruitful academic dialogue.

The Summer Research Camp was designed with two key objectives. First, it provided an opportunity for academic staff to catch up with the latest research issues in their own areas and to present and share research findings among peers, in order to receive useful feedback to enhance their research. Second, the event provided a platform for colleagues from different departments to discuss interdisciplinary research possibilities by getting to know each other’s research and to explore ideas for writing proposals for the forthcoming RGC grant exercise.

To launch the event, Prof. Sam Park, Dean of SBUS, delivered an insightful opening remark sharing the latest information on AI development and how these new technologies are reshaping society practices, especially how they will impact academic research. Next, a representative from the library followed Prof. Park’s topic, and introduced various research databases and resources of HSUHK, including AI tools to support research.

At the Concurrent Session A1: ACY & EAF, Prof. Raymond Kan, Professor of Finance, Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, Visiting Professor of Finance, HKUST, addressed a talk on the topic “Optimal Portfolio with Options”, and the colleagues proactively raised questions to Prof. Kan.
