Roy Ying is a PhD candidate in the final stage of his doctoral research at Curtin University, focusing on employees as brand influencers. He holds an MSc in Corporate Governance from Hong Kong Baptist University and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia.
Roy volunteers as Co-Chair of the Advocacy and Policy Research Committee at the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management, where he leads industry research initiatives that inform government policy development on workforce and human resource matters.
Before joining academia, Roy had over 30 years of professional experience spanning corporate communications, public affairs, CSR, and stakeholder management with senior roles at MTR Corporation, Jardine Matheson, HK Trade Development Council, HK General Chamber of Commerce, and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Roy is a regular media commentator on marketing and management issues. He writes columns for China Daily (Hong Kong edition), E-Digest Hong Kong, and CTgoodjobs.hk, and contributes to South China Morning Post, Mix Meeting Magazine, and Master Insight.
