Faculty members of the Department recently held a fruitful discussion on applying for external grants on 22 October. Colleagues who had successfully secured grants generously shared their experiences and reflections, while newly joined faculty members raised questions and received practical advice. The discussion covered key aspects of the application process, including proposal scope, structure and formatting, internal review procedures, and application timelines. The exchange deepened colleagues’ understanding of grant application practices and strengthened the Department’s supportive peer network. To continue these research-focused exchanges, further brown bag seminars will be organised, featuring both departmental colleagues and guest speakers from other institutions, to encourage scholarly exchange and further foster a vibrant research culture.
