Biography

Professor Lau received his BA degree in Journalism from the National Chengchi University and obtained his MSc and PhD degrees in Management from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His papers have been published in Academy of Management ReviewJournal of International Business StudiesJournal of International ManagementFamily Business ReviewJournal of Business Ethics, and International Journal of Hospitality Management, among others. Before joining The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, he was a faculty member of the Department of Management at both the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Professor Lau has adopted various pedagogical methods, such as cooperative learning and problem-based learning approaches, to help students become more active and interactive in their learning. He has also gained extensive work experience. Before entering academia, he worked in commercial firms and was an entrepreneur, running his own business ventures. These industrial and entrepreneurial experiences not only provide valuable insights into his research and teaching, but also enable him to offer quality service within the university.
