On 28 April 2026, the School of Business was invited to attend the “Grand Opening Ceremony of KongLi Education Technology Group Limited and HSUHK School of Business Admission Talk”. The event provided a valuable platform for engagement with education professionals and industry partners, while introducing prospective students to the distinctive features and development opportunities of the School’s taught postgraduate programmes.
Combining the grand opening celebration with an admission talk, the event attracted a large number of students, parents, and representatives from educational institutions, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere.

Sharing Teaching Philosophy and Programme Highlights
On the day, Prof. Victor Lau, Associate Dean (Taught Postgraduate Programmes) of the School of Business, and Ms. Fiona Fong, Postgraduate Programme Manager of the School of Business, attended the event. Together with distinguished guests, they witnessed an important milestone in the development of KongLi Education Technology Group Limited and further strengthened collaboration between the School and Mainland education partners.
During the admission talk session, Prof. Lau elaborated on the University’s educational philosophy of “Liberal + Professional” by focusing on programme design. He emphasised that this concept is not abstract, but is concretely embedded in both the curriculum structure and the overall learning experience.
“Taking the Master of Business Administration (in Chinese) programme as an example,” Prof. Lau explained, “in addition to covering core business and management knowledge, the curriculum also offers a range of interdisciplinary electives such as Liberal Studies in Management, Application of the I Ching in Business Intelligence, and ESG Strategy and Corporate Sustainability Development. These courses enable students to analyse business issues from multiple perspectives, including humanistic thinking, innovative tools, and sustainability.” He further noted that when students integrate different knowledge frameworks to interpret business phenomena, both their decision-making approaches and perspectives will evolve accordingly, allowing them to respond to complex and rapidly changing business environments with stronger judgement and foresight.

During the Q&A session, student engagement was highly positive. One participant remarked:
“Previously, I had limited exposure to programmes that integrate traditional culture with business. This design has given me a much clearer idea of my future study direction.”
In response, Prof. Lau encouraged students to actively explore connections across different fields of knowledge.
In addition, Ms. Fiona Fong introduced the key features of several taught postgraduate programmes, including the Master of Business Management (MBM), Master of Science in Entrepreneurial Management (MSc-EM), and Master of Business Administration (in Chinese) (MBA(C)), helping students make informed choices based on their academic background and career aspirations.

Interactive Sessions Guiding Students’ Study Planning
Beyond the admission talk, the event also featured interactive Q&A sessions and one-to-one consultation opportunities. Students raised questions regarding admission requirements, programme content, and future career pathways. Members of the School provided detailed responses and practical advice, assisting students in better planning their further studies. Through face-to-face engagement, participants were able to gain deeper insights into programme details, while the School also developed a better understanding of the needs and expectations of Mainland students.

Strengthening Greater Bay Area and Mainland Collaboration
The event not only enhanced students’ awareness of the School of Business at HSUHK, but also further strengthened its connections with education partners in Mainland China. Through direct engagement and knowledge sharing, the School continues to expand its recruitment network across the Greater Bay Area and the Mainland, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration.
Looking ahead, the School of Business will continue to promote a diverse range of student recruitment initiatives, actively engaging both Mainland and international students, and nurturing business professionals equipped with global vision, innovative capabilities, and interdisciplinary thinking.
