Hassan Ahmed (2024 BBA-ECON Graduate)

My journey at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) was a transformative experience that shaped my personal and professional growth.

As a Bachelor of Business Administration (Economics) graduate, I vividly recall the dynamic “Liberal + Professional” education model and small-class settings that fostered close mentorship from professors, encouraging critical thinking and innovation. Founding and leading EM-Power HSUHK, a student support group, was a highlight—organizing Eid events, Cultural Nights, war-games, VR experiences, and Halloween Nights to promote inclusivity among local ethnic minorities. Representing HSUHK as part of the Debate Team in international events and winning the inter-university T20 cricket league were moments of pride that deepened my connection to the university.

The skills and values I gained at HSUHK are cornerstones of my success. The iGPS framework—Intellectual Competence, Generic Skills, Personal Development, and Social Engagement—equipped me with adaptability, leadership, and a commitment to ethical practices. Economics coursework and hands-on projects sharpened my analytical skills, while leading EM-Power and organizing events honed my communication, event planning, and teamwork abilities. These experiences instilled a global mindset and resilience, preparing me for diverse professional environments.

HSUHK profoundly influenced my career path. My role as an HR Officer at Steak King Holdings Limited and internships at the Hong Kong Census & Statistics Department and Home Affairs Department reflect the practical skills I developed. My expertise in HRIS systems, compliance with Hong Kong employment laws, and fluency in English, Urdu, Punjabi, and Cantonese stem from HSUHK’s holistic education.

To current students, embrace HSUHK’s opportunities—join clubs, lead initiatives, and network relentlessly. Your curiosity and resilience will pave the way for success. HSUHK empowers you to shine in any path you choose.
