The Department of Accountancy is proud to announce that Dr. Pauline Wong, Principal Investigator, together with Co-Investigator Professor Phyllis Mo, has been awarded the competitive Inter-Institutional Development Scheme (IIDS) grant for their project titled, “Bridging Theory and Industry Practice: Advancing ESG Excellence in Hong Kong and Beyond.”
This interdisciplinary project aims to bridge the gap between theoretical frameworks and industry practices in advancing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) excellence, with a focus on Hong Kong and other global markets. The research highlights the interplay of ESG reporting and financial reporting, examining regulatory frameworks across the U.S., European Union, and ASEAN countries. It also reflects Hong Kong’s commitment to aligning with international ESG reporting standards such as IFRS and ISSB.
The department congratulates Dr. Wong and Prof. Mo on this important achievement, which reinforces our commitment to leading research that supports sustainable corporate governance and responsible business practices locally and beyond.
We look forward to the impactful outcomes and continued innovation generated by this initiative.
