Biography

Dr Marc Xinyu Liu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Finance at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. He received his PhD in Finance from INSEAD. His research lies at the intersection of macro-finance, asset pricing, labor markets, and firm dynamics, with a particular interest in using textual data to measure real frictions faced by firms. His current work studies how labor shortages and adjustment costs affect corporate hiring, investment, and stock returns. He teaches courses in corporate finance, financial markets and valuation, investments, and asset pricing.
