Biography

Dr Wenli Huang obtained her Doctor of Philosophy in Accounting from Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley and Bachelor of Arts in Economics (Outstanding Graduate) from Peking University.

She has held faculty positions at Boston University Questrom School of Business and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Accounting and Finance and College of Professional Education and Executive Development.  She has taught various accounting and finance courses in the undergraduate, MBA, and Master of Science programmes. 

Dr Huang’s research focuses on accounting information and corporate disclosure, managerial incentives, social media, and sustainability, etc. Her study on corporate information disclosure and social media has been published in leading academic journals including Management Science and Contemporary Accounting Research. In addition, her work published in the Journal of International Accounting Research (JIAR) received the 2022 Best Paper Award of JIAR, while another work published in the Journal of Accounting, Auditing, and Finance on institutional trading is featured as a top story in Columbia Law School’s Blog on Corporations and the Capital Markets.

Dr Huang has been awarded several competitive external grants from the Faculty Development Schemes (FDS), General Research Fund (GRF) and Institutional Development Scheme (IDS) of the Research Grants Council (RGC) of the HKSAR government.

Teaching: Managerial Accounting, Financial Accounting.
