The School of Business (SBUS) at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) met with representatives of the Hong Kong Direct Subsidy Scheme Schools Council (DSSSC) on 22 September to explore new opportunities to admit international students. The SBUS marketing team was led by Dr Lisa Goh, Associate Dean of SBUS.
The DSSSC was represented by Vice Chairman Mr Dion Chen and council member Dr Ka Chun Suen. During the meeting, Mr Chen highlighted the DSSSC’s new initiatives to recruit international students in light of the HKSAR Chief Executive’s policy agenda to develop a “Study in Hong Kong” brand. The discussion encompassed study routes of international students from outside Hong Kong, including IB, GCE, and DSE options. The Council expects to grow its international student population with roadshows in Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Russia, and Kazakhstan.
The School conveyed its support for a “through-train” concept when engaging prospective students, parents, and high school teachers in those countries, consistent with its goal to increase the presence of international students at HSUHK. The School welcomes opportunities to help international students realise their potential, equipping them with the skills, experiences, and professional competencies to build rewarding careers in business both in Hong Kong and internationally.
