The Department recently had the honor of hosting a distinguished member of our Academic Advisory Board, Professor Agnes Cheng for an engaging and highly productive two-day visit from 15 to 16 June 2026. The visit provided an invaluable opportunity for faculty members to exchange ideas, gain expert feedback, and strengthen academic ties across the School.
During her visit, Professor Cheng dedicated a significant portion of her time to individual consultations with our faculty members. These one-on-one sessions allowed researchers to delve deeply into their ongoing projects, receive constructive feedback, and explore new methodological approaches under her expert guidance. Faculty members greatly appreciated her insightful perspectives, which will undoubtedly help elevate the quality and impact of their upcoming publications.
A major highlight of the visit was a captivating research seminar where Professor Cheng presented her latest research paper “When Non-Disclosure Agreements Are Limited: Evidence from Whistleblowing, OSHA Inspection, and Workplace Safety”. The presentation drew audience from across the School and sparked a vibrant Q&A session. Her innovative findings and rigorous analytical approach provided wonderful inspiration for our academic community and prompted engaging discussions on future research directions in the field.
Beyond the formal academic sessions, the visit also featured a series of networking events designed to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and collegiality. Lunch and dinner gatherings were held, bringing together faculty members not only from our Department but also from another department within the School. These relaxed settings allowed for open conversations, relationship-building, and the sharing of ideas in a more informal environment.
The Department extends its sincere gratitude to our Academic Advisory Board member for her time, dedication, and invaluable contributions during her stay. We eagerly look forward to her continued guidance and future visits.
