HSUHK School of Business Connects with Students in Southwest China to Explore Postgraduate Business Education and Entrepreneurship Opportunities

HSUHK Business School connected with prospective postgraduate students in Chongqing, showcasing its business master’s programmes and Hong Kong study opportunities.

The School of Business of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) recently took part in the New Oriental Autumn Education Fair in Chongqing, one of Southwest China’s major education hubs. At the fair, the School met prospective postgraduate students from across the region, introducing its taught master’s programmes, the benefits of studying in Hong Kong, and the latest admission information.

The booth drew interest from final-year undergraduates and professionals considering further studies or a career change. Visitors were keen to learn more about entry requirements, application schedules, and the career pathways available to graduates of HSUHK’s business programmes.

Engaging Prospective Students in Southwest China

Dr. Eko Liao, Programme Director of the Master of Business Management (MBM), and Professor Li King King, Programme Director of the Master of Science in Entrepreneurship Management (MSc-EM), represented the School at the event. They spoke with students about the programmes’ teaching approach, curriculum design, and hands-on learning opportunities, while offering tailored advice based on each student’s background and career goals.

Dr. Liao highlighted the value of the MBM programme for students from non-business disciplines.

Dr. Liao highlighted the value of the MBM programme for students from non-business disciplines. “Many talented students do not come from a business background, but they need a structured foundation in business thinking,” he said. “MBM is designed for them. The programme combines practical business training with interdisciplinary learning and soft-skills development, preparing graduates for careers in management, marketing, strategic planning, and beyond.”

Professor Li introduced the MSc-EM programme as a pathway for students interested in innovation and entrepreneurship.

He noted that growing interest among young people in start-ups, innovation projects, and new business models has made entrepreneurial education increasingly relevant. The programme serves not only aspiring entrepreneurs, but also professionals who wish to lead innovation within established organisations. With industry mentorship and applied entrepreneurship projects, students are encouraged to turn ideas into practical, market-ready business solutions.

Strengthening Connections Across Mainland China

Participation in the Chongqing fair reflects the School’s ongoing commitment to engaging with talented students across Mainland China. Through face-to-face conversations at education fairs, the School is able to give prospective students a clearer understanding of its postgraduate offerings and the distinctive strengths of business education in Hong Kong.

The School of Business will continue to join education fairs in major Mainland cities, connecting with students and parents who are considering postgraduate studies in Hong Kong and sharing insights into its high-quality business programmes.
