Marketing Students Gain Industry Insights During Visit to WPP Media

The Marketing Department successfully hosted its second company visit of the year on 23 April 2026, bringing a team of enthusiastic students to WPP Media, one of the world’s leading media and communications groups. The visit offered students a rare opportunity to explore the inner workings of a global media powerhouse and gain first‑hand exposure to the evolving landscape of data‑driven marketing.

Upon arrival at WPP Media’s Quarry Bay campus, the student delegation was warmly welcomed by a cross‑departmental team of senior leaders. Their presence underscored the company’s strong commitment to nurturing future talent and supporting industry‑academic collaboration.

During the visit, WPP Media’s leadership team provided an in‑depth introduction to the company’s mission, structure, and culture. Students learned how WPP Media integrates data, technology, and human creativity to deliver intelligent growth solutions for brands across global markets. The hosts also offered a guided overview of the company’s dynamic working environment, highlighting the collaborative and fast‑paced nature of modern media operations.

A key highlight of the session was the introduction of WPP Internship Programme and WPP Graduate Trainee Programme. HR representatives outlined the application process, development pathways, and the competencies the company looks for in emerging talent. This information proved especially valuable for students preparing to enter the workforce.

The visit also featured a sharing session with three current trainees, who spoke candidly about their experiences, challenges, and personal growth within the company. Their insights provided students with a relatable and authentic perspective on transitioning from university to a professional media career.

To express the department’s appreciation, Dr Kelvin Ho presented an official Certificate of Appreciation to WPP Media on behalf of the Marketing Department. The gesture reflected the department’s gratitude for the company’s hospitality and its continued support in enriching students’ learning experiences.

The visit concluded with lively conversations and networking, leaving students inspired and better informed about the diverse career opportunities within the media industry. The Marketing Department looks forward to continuing its partnership with WPP Media and offering more industry‑engaged learning experiences in the future.
