The Professional Bodies Briefing Session 2026-27 was successfully held on 22 October 2026. In this session, the Department of Accountancy invited representatives from three renowned professional bodies, namely (in alphabetical order) the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), CPA Australia and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), to delineate their institutes and respective professional qualifications, including examination structures and paper exemptions available for HSUHK graduates. The event received overwhelming support, resulting in a full house on the day.
The briefing session outlined the features and advantages of each professional body, assisting students in making informed decisions about their future professional paths. Throughout the seminar, students explored career options in professional accountancy, the difference between various accounting qualifications awarded by different professional bodies, and discussed the importance of AI and technology in their career development.
