The MBM and MSc-EM Orientation Dinner brought new students together with faculty members, alumni and industry partners at King Lung Heen on 22 September 2026. It was an early opportunity for students to meet the wider programme community and begin building connections beyond the classroom.
Professor Sam Park, Distinguished University Professor and Dean of the School of Business, welcomed students as they began a new stage of their academic journey. MBM Programme Director Dr Eko Liao and MSc-EM Programme Director Professor King King Li then introduced the learning opportunities, activities and support available through their respective programmes.
During the certificate presentation, MSc-EM Entrepreneurship Advisors and MBM Distinguished Industry Mentors were recognised for their professional insight, practical guidance and connections with industry. Their involvement gives students access to expertise and support beyond the formal curriculum.
The two sharing panels gave students a closer look at the different experiences available through the programmes. MBM alumni spoke about their paths in doctoral study, entrepreneurship, wealth management and international trade. MSc-EM alumni and a current student shared their experiences of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks (HKSTP) Capstone projects, overseas study tours and cross-border innovation, offering practical perspectives on learning beyond the classroom.
The dinner ended with students, alumni, faculty members and industry partners continuing their conversations over shared interests, career plans and possible collaborations. For our new MBM and MSc-EM students, the evening provided a welcoming start and an opportunity to build relationships that can support their studies and professional development in the year ahead.
