The School of Business (SBUS) at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) has officially been recognised as a Level 3 “Progressing School” in the 2026 edition of the Positive Impact Rating (PIR). This significant milestone highlights the school’s commitment to shaping a more responsible, inclusive, and impact-oriented future, moving beyond simply chasing academic performance.
The prestigious Level 3 rating indicates that HSUHK SBUS is successfully “demonstrating evidence of results across several impact dimensions”. The evaluation is based on direct feedback from faculty members and students who actively participated in the PIR survey. Their feedback assessed the institution across eight key impact dimensions:
- Governance
- Culture
- Programmes
- Learning Methods
- Student Support
- Institution as a Role Model
- Public Engagement
- Research
The 2026 PIR is a global initiative that brought together feedback from 19,789 students and 1,189 faculty members from 32 countries to help business schools understand where their impact is felt and where further action is needed. Out of 131 participating business schools worldwide, only 87 (66%) achieved a Level 3 ranking or above. Securing a place among these top-tier institutions in its very first year of participation is a remarkable achievement for HSUHK SBUS.
