  • CHO Day 2025 cum Symposium

Jointly organised by the Chief Happiness Officer Association (CHOA) and the School of Business at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, the CHO Day 2025 cum Symposium was successfully held on 22 May 2025.

The event began with a warm welcome from Ms Mary Suen, Co-founder and Executive Chairman of CHOA, followed by an opening speech delivered by Professor Sam Park, Dean of the School of Business, which emphasised the importance of happiness in the workplace. He brought up a powerful message that echoed with the theme of the day: “Empirical studies increasingly confirm that companies prioritising empathy, ethical leadership, and societal value don’t just survive—they thrive. Happiness, it turns out, is not a liability; it is a catalyst for innovation, loyalty, and resilience.” The impactful conclusion of Dean’s speech set the tone for the inspiring discussions that followed.

In the latter session, Dr Jason Liao, Associate Professor (Practice) of the Department of Economics and Finance, shared his insights on “Tech-Enability at the Workplace” sparking engaging conversations among panel members and attendees. Throughout the discussion session, other panel speakers contributed to meaningful and interactive dialogues, further exploring the themes of workplace happiness and technology.
