A Chartered Financial Analyst Talk organised by Economics and Finance Department was held on 6 November 2014 and it was attended by over 150 enthusiasts. Our guest speakers were Mr Neil Govier, Head of Education Asia-Pacific CFA and Mr Alan Lok, Director of CFA.
Neil started his talk with an overview on the CFA Institute and provided insights into the professional standards. He also briefed students on details of the CFA Programme and highlighted the pathway in achieving such credential. Neil also presented 5 helpful tips to students for passing the CFA examination, and at the same time, demystified the 5 myths of the CFA examination. On the second part of the talk, Alan shared his fruitful working experience and emphasised on how ethics plays an essential role not only in the CFA programme but in the financial world as well. It was a great afternoon with both guests’ delivery of insightful yet knowledgeable talks to both staff and students.
