From 3 May to 5 May 2016, the Department of Accountancy collaborated with the Research Institute for Business to organise a series of research training workshops to staff members from the Department of Accountancy, and the Department of Economics and Finance. We are honoured to invite Professor HAW In-Mu, Visiting Chair Professor of Department of Accountancy, to be the leader of the workshops.
The main purpose of the workshops is to encourage cross-disciplinary research. The topics covered include (1) conducting good empirical research, (2) research design and methodology and (3) corporate governance research. During the workshops, participants were inspired by Professor Haw’s insightful sharing for further development of research ideas. Participants enjoyed the workshops and they were eager to raise questions to share their viewpoints. The workshops concluded successfully on 5 May 2016. A lunch gathering was arranged after the last day of workshops so that the participants could connect with each other for future potential research opportunity.
