Career Seminar on Accounting Profession

A career seminar was co-organized by the Department of Accountancy and Career Planning and Development of SAO on 15 September 2016 about the Accounting Profession by Mr. Andy Chan, the guest speaker, who is Senior Treasury and Tax Manager of a Multinational Corporation.

The topic of the seminar was about the Accounting Profession. Mr. Andy Chan first gave a brief introduction about his career path. After that, he introduced the career paths in the accounting profession including pursuing along the CPA firms (Big 4, middle-tier and local CPA firms), corporate enterprises, or civil services.  There were discussions on the Big 4 recruitment process, and the type of applicants that the employers are looking for.  Mr. Chan also gave advice on how to better prepare for the aptitude tests and picked some sample questions on verbal reasoning for students’ practice.  The Career Seminar was successfully held with an attendance of more than 170 students and staff from the Department of Accountancy and Career Planning and Development of SAO.
