The Economics and Finance departmental retreat was held on 7 June 2016 for the purpose of promoting team spirit. Dr David Chui, Head of the Department of Economics and Finance, gave an introductory speech to set the retreat going. One of the key focuses of this retreat was to discuss the impending AACSB accreditation. In order to ensure that each member understands clearly the ways to achieve the qualification, Dean Raymond So, School of Business, and Dr David Chui gave an in-depth sharing of their views on the guidelines of meeting the standards of AACSB accreditation.
Afterwards, members played the role of students in a hands-on game using the Bloomberg terminals at the Financial Trading Laboratory, led by Mr Bosco Yim, Manager of the Laboratory. Members were amazed with the multiple financial functions of the terminals.
To unwind and de-stress after a semester’s worth of hard work, members participated in a relaxation session consisting of stretching exercises and group activities guided by the college’s PE teachers at the Sports Hall. Team spirit was enhanced when members strived to accomplish the group activities together. The fun-filled retreat ended with a relaxing and cheerful lunch.
