    Hike n Chill 🌸

The much-anticipated hiking activity was a resounding success! Nature enthusiasts from all years of BBA-FA, BBA-FAFT, BBA-FB, and BBA-ECON programs gathered together for a day of exploration and camaraderie. The event, organized with the aim of strengthening communication and bonding between personal tutors and tutees in a non-classroom environment, exceeded all expectations.

On the beautiful Sunday morning of 25th February 2024, a group of enthusiastic hikers assembled at 1/F Block D, HSUHK, brimming with excitement for the day ahead. At 11:30 am, we boarded the shuttle bus that would transport us to our starting point at Sam Mun Tsai (三門仔). The air was filled with anticipation as we embarked on our journey to the Ma Shi Chau Nature Trail (馬屎洲自然教育徑).

The trail, known for its captivating landscapes and scenic beauty, provided the perfect backdrop for our hiking adventure. As we navigated the path, the vibrant colors of spring surrounded us, with blooming flowers and lush greenery at every turn. The trail’s easy to medium difficulty level ensured that hikers of all skill levels could participate and enjoy the experience to the fullest.

Over the course of approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, we immersed ourselves in the wonders of nature, forging new connections and strengthening existing ones. Conversations flowed freely as personal tutors and tutees engaged in discussions about various topics, not limited to academics, but also encompassing personal interests, aspirations, and experiences. The non-classroom setting provided a refreshing change, fostering a relaxed and open atmosphere that encouraged meaningful interactions.

Ms. Rosalie Woo, Mr. Ken Chan, and several other dedicated tutors participated in the event, acting as guides and mentors throughout the journey. Their presence and enthusiasm added an extra layer of enjoyment, as they shared their knowledge about the trail, pointed out interesting natural landmarks, and provided guidance to ensure everyone’s safety and well-being.

At 3:00 pm, we regrouped at Sam Mun Tsai, our hearts filled with a sense of accomplishment and gratitude for the shared experience. The shuttle bus awaited us, ready to transport us back to HSUHK, where our journey had begun. As we bid farewell to the trail and the breathtaking scenery, we carried with us the memories and connections forged during our time in nature.

The Hike n Chill event was a testament to the power of outdoor activities in strengthening relationships and fostering a sense of community.
