The Department of Management has successfully organized a workshop themed Research Methods Workshop on SPSS and Mplus in order to improve the research skill of the participants. Dr. Chi-Sum WONG, a Professor from Department of Management of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, was invited as our guest speaker to share on this topic.
Before the workshop, a luncheon meeting was arranged to draw the distance between the participants and Prof Wong closer. The participants raised their difficulties while doing the research and Prof Wong shared his experience on the issues. They had an enjoyable meal and time with Prof Wong.
In the workshop, Prof Wong introduced examples of statistical tests for models that involve mediator, moderator, and both mediator and moderator. He also used real-life data and programs of SPSS (PROCESS) and Mplus software as illustrations so that participants could have hand-on experiences in performing those tests.
Prof Wong graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management of Purdue University in the USA. He has published and presented more than one hundred and eighty articles in academic journals and international conferences.
