Professor Piyush Sharma from Curtin University of Perth, Australia, visited HSMC on 5 April 2016 to give a research presentation on “Personal cultural orientations: Looking beyond scale development and validation”.Professor Sharma had 30 years of professional experience in the industry and the academic field. Before joining the School of Marketing at Curtin University in January 2014, he had been an Associate Professor and the Director of the Asian Centre for Branding and Marketing at Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Professor Sharma first discussed the concept of “culture” and then introduced its diverse cultural paradigms. He also shared one of his recent studies which is about calibrating a scale to measure personal cultural dimensions. His presentation impressed the participants and generated enthusiastic responses.
