Biography Professor Yan "Anthea" Zhang holds the Fayez Sarofim Vanguard Chair of Strategic Management at the Jones Graduate School of Business, Rice University. She serves as the president of the Strategic Management Society (SMS) for the term January 2023 to December 2024. Professor Zhang has also been a board member of the International Corporate Governance Society (ICGS) and is an elected Fellow of both the Strategic Management Society (SMS) and the Academy of International Business (AIB). Her editorial roles have included Associate Editor positions at the Academy of Management Journal and the Strategic Management Journal, as well as Consulting Editor for Management and Organization Review. Currently, she is an Area Editor for the Journal of International Business Studies. Her research interests encompass CEO succession, corporate governance in public and family firms, foreign direct investments, technological entrepreneurship, and energy transition. She has published extensively on these topics in leading academic journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Marketing, and Journal of International Business Studies.
