    The Department of Economics and Finance organized the Secondary School FinTech Innovation Competition 2023 on 30 June 2023. Supporting organizations included Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) and Institute of Financial Technologists of ASIA (IFTA). The competition aimed to promote FinTech literacy among senior secondary school students and encourage them to explore the digital environment. The competition received the support of the FinTech community too, which valuable advice was provided to participating team members.     Since its launch in 2004, the HKSI Institute Case Competition (previously known as the Scholarship Programme), has provided the opportunity to more than 800 university students to develop their career in the financial industry. Department of Economics & Finance (EAF) has been an advocate to promote this competition to HSUHK and encourage all disciplines of HSUHK students to participate.     Our annual event, the EAF Investment Competition 2023, was kicked off on 2 March 2023. The Competition will run from 1 March 2023 to 16 June 2023. Student teams will compete in a renowned trading simulation platform using real time data and news. We are glad to invite the Head of Economics and Finance Department, Dr David Chui to deliver the opening speech.
